Default Best Coilover and Related Parts Configuration

So I'm looking to get the coilovers on my car. There was a bit of a delay which has given me some time to decide if what I want is the right setup before I have the shop throw em on.

I'm looking at BC coilover kit from marylandspeed: http://marylandspeed.com/bc-racing-b...br-p-3388.html

I'm not looking to do an aggressive drop. No slamming, just 1" to 1.5", car scrapes as is. What else do I need? I'm more familiar with f-body suspension (did the whole setup myself) so I'm not sure how to handle the independent suspension on our chassis.

I want to ensure easy alignments and to have proper geometry (i.e camber, toe, etc...) In theory it seems it's easier to maintain geometry when lowering our cars compared to a solid axle. What do I need aftermarket wise?

    LCAs? Toe Rods? Trailing Arms?

Any bushing/install kits I should get with this setup?

Cradle inserts are the first bush I would go with. From there anything else will help a little bit more with each thing you do, I think you'll be really surprised if you just do the inserts and the BC's though. I have seen a lot of people mention you need to make sure to order the stiffer spring rate with the BC's

Interesting. I'm going to research the stiffer springs now, any idea on the model/designation? Any idea on anything else I'll need to be sure I can get the car to align to proper geometry after the drop?

I run Pedders Coilovers so I am not certain but if memory serves they ship with 7/9 unless specified to send the other rates. Some guys have run the 8/10 and some run 9/12. depends what you want I suppose as far as ride quality and height. if you go really low I think you need new alignment kit but just a 1-1.5" I doubt you will need the bolts.

Will check it out. I think Maryland Speed has it cheaper, but not sure on spring rate. Plus I've had good communication with those guys @ Maryland on prior orders.

Yea that's basically what I'm looking at now. I already have the BMR sways, they're great. How low did you go?

Dropped the front about 1.5 inches. Left the rear exactly as I came from BC racing.

We just had out g8 extravaganza here in Florida.
We took a 100 mile aggressive cruise through back roads and hills in the rain, reaching in excess of 100mph an getting air twice and never felt so confident in the car.

Truly tested this setup out and I am impressed.

That sounds really great, bet it was a lot of fun . I guess I'll order the adjustable parts, because I want to make sure I'm getting everything I need to get the geometry right. Install @ G-Force seems reasonably priced too, not even worth busting my back doing it myself, getting too old for that shit. Once I buy a bigger place (read: bigger garage) I'll put a lift in, then I can wrench away without having to wedge myself under the car.

Really you should get ahold of Kyle at BMR and or Rob at Wretched and talk to them about your goals with the car, they will detail out the best route for you to go if you are not getting all the stuff at once which is pricey. Kyle is great to work with and answers all of your questions in depth I have replaced all of the parts and bush in the rear and sourced it all except the coilovers and sways through BMR.
